Day 29!

There’s a day left before November comes to an end! It will all be over soon. I’m not saying this because I’m so done right now but because it’s an accomplishment. I’ve worked so hard on this story even though most of it doesn’t make sense. I”m just glad I wrote it. That’s all I can say.

Today, I finished another important scene/plot point AND I HAVE REACHED 50,000 WORDS!

That’s all I have to say. I’ll update more on tomorrow’s blog and I will put up my certificate.

Getting There

The National Novel Writing Month website says that I need to write 941 words per day to finish on time. That is not going to happen. Not because I have no idea what to write or anything like that. It’s because it won’t be enough to finish writing the actual story. As of right now, I know three important things have to happened before I can finish this novel. For the most part, I can link all of these three scenes/ plot points to fit into the story without having it sound like I am rushing this story.

It’s not like I feel like I’m rushing but I wish I had moved up the plot a bit more. At least, I know what I have to revise and fix in the second draft. So it isn’t so bad.

While I didn’t write 1800 words today, I did write enough to scratch an important scene/plot point off of ‘to write’ plotĀ  for this story. Two more plot points/scenes to write before I finish and I have enough time to do it.

For those of you typing like

and trying to catch up, I wish you luck. Don’t worry or stress. You got this. This is the moment to show that you can create anything. Who cares if it doesn’t make sense? That is why revision exists. Stay strong!

Fast Forward

There’s three days left before NaNoWriMo comes to an end! While I didn’t type anything yesterday because of reasons, I will still reach the goal of 50k words.

I mentioned before that I wanted to finish the story like write ‘the end.’ As it is now, I don’t know if that might happen. Even if I reach 50k words, I plan to continue writing until Nov. 30 in the hopes of finishing the novel.

At this point, I don’t even care anymore. Okay, I do care about the plot but I’m no concerned with finishing this story. I’m jumping from important scene to important scene to reach the third act and the final confrontation. With the scene jumping, it’s more like I’m shortening the scenes to only include the information that is necessary. Sensory information or setting description is being omitted. I can fill out those details later. I just want to finish.

Honestly, I don’t know what I’m going to write tomorrow. It’s going to involved a demon persecution, another ambush, and possibly a demon possession.

The last Stretch

We have five days until the end of November and the plot is moving towards the third act. It hasn’t gotten there yet but it is very close. The way things are going now, I say that I will reach 50,000 words soon. Yesterday I had 2k words! I think it had to do with the fact that I wanted some time away from the family.

I don’t know if I’ll reach the end of the story (like the actual end of the novel) but I can always rush it if I need to. I’ll probably have to. At this point, I don’t know how my subplots connect to my main story but that’s not important. What’s important is that I’m almost finished. I can start that headache inducing revision later.

Honestly, I’m excited. It’s been almost two years since I came up with this story and I’m so glad that I can just write it and get it out of my system. I think that’s what I need to do for all my unwritten stories. Just write them and revise later. Thinking aboutĀ  it now, that’s what I’ll probably due in December. Start on a novel that I’ve always wanted to write but wasn’t sure how to start. Otherwise, I won’t start and I won’t get anywhere.

The best part is that I do get to use a scene that I wrote a few weeks ago. If y’all remember, I wrote a scene that really had no part of the plot at the moment. Just today, I was able to write it in into the plot. So far nothing was wasted. I’m proud of myself.

Tomorrow’s plot: cooperation and a forced trip down memory lane

P.S. I’ve hit 45k words! 5k more words to go!
